This Is A Women's World

Have you ever heard the song "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" by James Brown? If you haven't(SHAME ON YOU), here is the song:

Now this song really has no meaning to the blog(even though that it's an amazing song). Why I use it is to bring up something I talked about with another blogger just the other day.

I was in the #LBloggers chat when I began a conversation with a blogger by the name of Helena over at Life Through Me. The discussion started from the topic of taking breaks from blogs. I talked about how I came back to the blogging world after my long break, and she told me about hers. She then told me how she went to my blog and enjoyed what she read. It was nice to hear that(even for a guy from Alabama). That's when she said that the community needed more male bloggers.

I have always thought about this subject because I hardly have found male bloggers who blog like I do. Since I been back I found a couple, but most of the male bloggers I see either do grooming, fashion, or photography blogs. Not too many lifestyle bloggers that are males.

How James Brown said that it's a man's world can be said to how it's a woman's world in the blogging world. Like I said, there are male bloggers out there, but majority of bloggers are females. Most of my blogging friends are females. This is cool, but there are times when I wish I could have a guy who understand where I come from on the male end.

I am not saying that we all don't go through the same problems because we all do go through the same problems. It just sometimes where women can understand women more on certain things, the same can be said for men.

Now with that being said, I want more guys to be able to go to a female blog and give their opinion on some of their post as well. Just because a female writes something does not mean that you can relate or put in your opinion to it.

I am hoping everyone can understand where I am coming from. Even though that women are the majority in the blogging world, this community is for everyone. I feel that even though there might not be a lot people like me out there, I still have my place where I can relate to EVERYONE.

What about you? What do you think about the subject? Do you think more guys should blog? Do you have a favorite male blogger out there(besides me, lol) that you like to read from time to time?

  1. I think that more guys should blog, it would make things more interesting to get a male perspective on things. There were two guys I used to follow but neither have blogged for years. Maybe you can get more to join in on the fun!

    1. I'm hoping so. I would love to see what other guys would think on some of the topics I talk about or even if they have new ideas as well.

  2. This is such a great post! Bloggers don't really talk about the absence of men in regards to blogging, but I know everyone notices it. I'm glad you wrote about it :)

    1. Thanks so much for the love. I'm hoping more people will talk about this, and we can see what will happen after that.

  3. Yay!!! This post just made my day, thanks for the mention!

Although I understand it can be frustrating at times not being able to have another male blogger to share your point of view, I guess you can use that initiative to pave the way for all the guys out there: yes, there is a "market" - or a demand - for male lifestyle bloggers. Hopefully it can inspire other guys out there to become bloggers too, or relate to the topics of your posts as readers.

I liked your blog from the start because it has that personal appeal, I like reading about people's story and personal experience. Nowadays a lot of bloggers do beauty/grooming or fashion, which are fine in their own right but oversaturated on the web. I believe in diversity, as individuals and as type of blogging.

Glad you've got your mojo back and can't wait to read more posts from you! All the best! x

    1. I am very happy I was able to make your day. If it wasn't for that talk we had, this post would have never happened.

I am hoping maybe more male lifestyle bloggers will come along. Hell, I might be one of few very for now but I will continue to try to get more to come around.
